The Langley Wellington Team is Taking on a 10k Warrior Run for MOGAD

Following the wonderful support for our bake sale earlier this year, “Our Bake Sale – Over £200 Raised for MOGAD Awareness Month”, the teams at Langley Wellington Solicitors are back with another fundraising challenge. This time, we are swapping cakes for trainers!

Our colleagues and family members have signed up to take on a 10K Warrior Run, all in aid of MOGAD research and the families affected by this rare condition. It is a cause that means a great deal to us, and we’d be incredibly grateful for your continued support.

The 10k Warrior Run – Our Next Challenge!

Members of our team and their families will be taking on a 10K Warrior Run. Every step and obstacle will be in support of MOGAD research, and the families affected by this condition.

Whether you can spare a small donation (details at the end of this page) or help us spread the word, your support will make a genuine difference. Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund research and support for people living with MOGAD. Please donate if you can, and look out for our photos following the event!

What is MOGAD?

For those who missed our earlier article, ‘Langley Wellington Is Supporting MOGAD Awareness Month’, MOGAD stands for Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody Disease. It is a rare neuroimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the central nervous system.

MOGAD can affect both children and adults, and symptoms vary and may cause:

  • Vision loss (optic neuritis)
  • Spinal cord inflammation (transverse myelitis)
  • Brain inflammation (ADEM)
  • And more

Some people experience a single episode and recover well. Others experience relapses over time, which can make it difficult to plan day-to-day life or maintain employment. The unpredictable nature of the condition is one of the things that makes it so challenging to live with.

Because MOGAD shares characteristics with other neurological conditions, it is frequently misdiagnosed, which can delay access to the right treatment and support. For those diagnosed, and for their families, it can be a devastating and frightening experience, and there is a real and pressing need for further research to better understand the condition and work towards a cure.

Raising Awareness About MOGAD – Why This Cause is Personal to Langley Wellington Solicitors

Supporting MOGAD is an important cause close to our hearts at Langley Wellington Solicitors. Members of our team have firsthand experience of how this condition affects people and their families. Our personal connection is why we have chosen to support the MOG Project, a charity dedicated to funding vital research and supporting those living with MOGAD.

We believe that local firms like ours have a part to play beyond the day-to-day legal work we do, and supporting causes that matter to our teams, and our community is something we take seriously.
