Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Department: Commercial Conveyancing

The Role
Langley Wellington LLP has a very well respected and well-regarded Commercial Department. We are looking to recruit a self-motivated Paralegal on a permanent basis to join our Team working alongside experienced lawyers. As one of Gloucestershire’s premier law firms you can rest assured that we will invest in your future and personal development and provide you with continuous training to allow you to develop your career. There will be an existing case load to take over when the right candidate joins our team. The purpose of the role is to provide legal services to clients in relation to general commercial property matters, with a specific focus on sale and purchase of commercial property, all aspects of leases contributing to the continued growth of the firm in a supportive environment.
Duties
To actively support a Senior Commercial Conveyancer in progressing matters from inception to closure. Take an active role in reporting to clients, estate agents and other stakeholders in a transaction. To interpret and draft legal correspondence and forms as required during a transaction. To have good client handling skills, to keep files well organised and properly updated, utilise PC skills as necessary, and comply with company standards.
Criteria
The role will require someone who has a proven record of accomplishment in organising their own personal workload and responsibilities; the ability to determine priorities and consistently meet deadlines. Minimum 2 years PQE (or equivalent) preferable.
Working Hours
Full time Monday to Friday.
Salary Range
Dependent on experience and linked to a discretionary bonus scheme. 23 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and excellent working conditions that offer flexibility and balance for those who require to work hybrid hours.

Role Purpose

We are looking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary on a permanent basis to join our Conveyancing Team. In this role, you will be supporting a senior conveyancing lawyer, assisting with their dynamic and varied workload that encompasses a range of administrative and legal duties pertaining to Residential Conveyancing. As one of Gloucestershire’s premier law firms, we are committed to investing in your personal and professional growth, offering continuous training to foster your career advancement.
Duties
- Actively assist the senior conveyancing lawyer in progressing matters from initiation to completion.
- Play a key role in liaising with clients, estate agents, and other stakeholders in property transactions.
- Ensure matter files remain current and updated.
- Interpret and draft legal correspondences and forms as required during transactions.
- Oversee the completion of all related administrative tasks.
Criteria
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate effectively.
- Conveyancing experience desirable.
Working Hours
Full time, Monday to Friday. Consideration for part-time hours may be given to the right candidate.

Family Lawyer

Role Purpose

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated Family Lawyer on a permanent basis to join our friendly Family Team working alongside experienced lawyers. There will be an existing case load to take over when the right candidate joins our team.
Duties
To be able to manage a case load with a minimum of supervision, to have good client handling skills dealing with Finances and Divorce, be willing and able to undertake their own advocacy in Court on initial hearings and directions appointments. To advise clients on a Private basis but to also undertake some Legal Aid work. The opportunity to be involved in the direction and growth of our Family Law Department.
Criteria
3-5 years PQE experience preferably dealing with all areas of Family Law (except Public Child Care Law). To have a good general knowledge of Family Law including Divorce, Private Law Children Act Matters, Financial Remedy, Injunctions and Cohabitation Disputes.
Working Hours
Full time Monday to Friday preferred, for the right candidate part time may be considered.
Salary Range
Dependent on experience and linked to a bonus scheme.
